Swinging on the Fence
I came across a WhatsApp status that read as follows;
We are all being used either by God or the devil. You cannot be in the middle. Who is using you?
A whole lot of persons usually answer to questions and enquiries with a 'but' after saying yes or no depending on the question asked.
The beatitudes of Matthew chapter five talks a lot about our conduct, relations with others and living to please God, living a fulfilling life that imitates God and showcases his perfectness.
It emphasis on living honestly, shying away from evil and living exemplary lives, living perfectly as our God is a perfect God.
And so when honesty is being put to the test, when truth is fighting to be established it is black or white. Positive or negative and so an emphatic yes or no is needed. No explanations, no justifications, no supporting arguments needed.
In our quest to always justify our actions and beliefs, we have convinced ourselves that nothing is either black our white, birthing the famous grey area.
In view of the above, can you sit on the fence in any situation? No, even if you say you have nothing to say, in your inner self your conscious man knows your opinion knows your thought, knows your yes or know.
So whatever you are contemplating, it is either good or bad there's no middle ground. And after your yes or no, no other justification is needed.
Sitting on the fence is even a job, that's not idleness. You are putting effort into not reacting to a situation whether for the betterment and improvement of yourself, others or the society at large or to the detriment of yourself and others.
And that right there is a stance, a decision however silent it is, an action has been enforced. To sit on the fence.
So back to the catalyst for today's inspiration, we are all being used by God or the devil! You cannot be in the middle, you cannot sit on the fence, definitely can't swing.
And so who is using you?
Cheers!
